Catch 22

Assalamualaikum

Mixed feelings.
Most of em are positive insyaAllah.
Amazed how so many things can happen in a very short time.
And how everything can fall into places perfectly.
MasyaAllah.
Praying everything will be smooth.
:D
Ameen...

Anyways, I was asked on my fav ska band awhile back. I have so many, but now I remembered.
I love Catch 22!! Can listen to them many2 times. I don't get bored at all.

Ya Ya Ya

I watched Istanbul Aku Datang the other day.
W purchased it on Astro First.
Everyone's been telling how good the movie is.
I was overwhelmed by the reviews.
Forgot to lower my expectation when watching it.
And....I think the movie is ok :|

Anyways, I super love the location. Istanbul!!
I love the songs they use in the movie.
Here's 1 I love:

I first love this song because of Janice's voice. Unique! I watched few of their vclips. There is 1 song called di syurga. It irritates me at first, but I grow to like the song after hearing it many2 times. Haha. Too bad Janice is not with them anymore :(

Mahu ke manakah kita?

Assalamualaikum
Good Day peeps! :D

My uwan just passed away last Wednesday. May Allah forgive her sins and bless her soul and place her in Jannah Amin.

Alhamdulillah, there were many things I learned from her passing.
I got to learn how to mandikan jenazah up to solat jenazah. Knowledge from school was blurry esp when you don't practice em much.
We will never know when is our time. Uwan was in good health (except that she needs a cane to help her walk). I saw her 3 days before she passed away, she looked completely fine. But our fate has been written long before we were born. When it's time, no matter how healthy you are, or no matter how old you are, things still happen according to Allah's will.
During kafan, I thought to myself. This is the only clothing you will wear when you are dead. Just your own jasad and layers of layers of white clothes. There is REALLY nothing from the dunya you can bring to the barzah except these 3 things:
1) Amal jariah
2) Ilmu yang bermanfaat
3) Doa anak yg soleh

MasyaAllah. I got chills after thinking of this. Definitely, I don't realize that what matters in the end is what kind of life I want in the hereafter. The options are only 2, jannah or hell. Recent topic of Tanyalah Ustaz 'Mahu ke manakah kita?' awakens me more. The answer is too obvious. Jannah it is!

Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the chastisement of the fire

At least to me.

Salam Maal Hijrah to all readers. May the new year brings more greatness to us insyaAllah.

Candy Booth

Bismillah Arrahman Arraheem
Assalamualaikum peeps :)

I sleep too much siang tadi. Now I don't feel sleepy at all. Hai la sleeping pattern. Will improve this insyaAllah. Masalahnye I wasn't sleepy pon. I just felt like going to sleep since I was already home. Ha kan dah bazir mase dan tenage dan sebagainye :|
Anyhus....
Mira's finally a wife now. She is my sweet cousin. A month before her reception, she asked me to be in charged of a candy booth. My first time actually, but they say when an opportunity comes, just grab it and so I did.
I have to say, planning was not easy. And I have to accept the fact that everything will not go as we planned. I thought we were getting much bigger table and space. When we (me and my crews aka loyal cousins) finally saw the place and the things they prepared for us, we definitely had to make many last minute changes. There were many hick ups, but alhamdulillah we managed in the end. There was even a pakcik asking me contact no so that he can hire us to make one for his grandchild's majlis akikah. MasyaAllah :)
Here are some of the pictures of the our candy booth:

Me and my choc fondue. It was a big hit! :D

To Mira and husband, congratulations. May you both be happy and blessed hingga ke Jannah amin :)

± 95 minutes

Assalamualaikum

Lately I am in a really cheerful mood. I think because I exercise a lot. Do you know when you exercise, your body excretes some hormones that makes you happy? Yes. In order for me to prepare for my 10k run, I have (read force myself) to exercise...EVERYDAY!
So ...10k!!!! I did it. Praise to Allah. I have to say I enjoy running now. Belum addicted lagi, but I LOVE it. I would even love it if many friends would join. The more the merrier aite?
I targeted to finish within 90 minutes but I lacked 5 minutes. InsyaAllah I will improve my timing. I am not going to enter a half marathon (yet??!), but I am going to improve my timing on the 10k until I get a prize weehee! I am still proud of myself for running nonstop (only stop to drink). I pray that my body and legs will be in tiptop condition for me to do this until I die :)

p/s: Seriously, my outdoor certs are more than my engineering certs now :|

Bandung N Gigs

Assalamualaikum...

You know what I feel like doing now? Fly to Bandung and watch any gigs there.
That would be the best impromptu-stress-relief-vacation plan right?
Yes, indeed.
As if there are no good gigs happening here in Malaysia :P
But if I go to Bandung, I get to be the tourist and that is the best feeling ever hahah.

I went to Bandung once. Only for half a day. With my family members. The thing with my family (especially mom n aunties), they only like to go shopping when travelling. Going to historic places or picturesque scenery or enjoy the music while having coffee (or tea) is not in their most priority things to do while travelling.
I absolutely would love to do all those things. I like shopping (aren't all women) but  I only shop things I really wanted at the time I feel like shopping. They on the other hand shop whatever they see whenever they feel possible  :|
So I have not had the chance to explore Bandung the way I wanted.

Ok. I am going to put this in my to-go-place-list.
Anyone care to join?

This is Mocca. Nice songs they play. Go and listen to them.

Junkie Much?

I don't label myself as the outdoor junkie. But somehow this month I have many activities line up.
Yesterday, me and some friends went to climb Gunung Angsi. Man it was a tough climb. I have not been hiking much lately and I think I underestimated this mountain a little. The hike up took us 4 hours, going down was 3 hours. It was damn tired. SUPER!
As soon as I got to the foothill, I make a vow never to hike that mountain again unless I want to go for some trainings. After the 'post mortem', I have decided to not climb the mountain ever again :|
Alhamdulillah, everyone got home safe and sound :)

I will never stop hiking. I will be making more and more plans but as for now, resting my sore muscles to the max is my major focus. I need my body to be in good shape until I am old insyaAllah.

Road Tripping Jerantut-K. Gelanggi-Tmn Negara Pahang

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamualaikum :)

Tibe2 mood menulis datang :P

I have always wanting to go to Taman Negara Pahang since FOREVER! The idea of going to the wild excite me eventho most of the creatures there saye takut :| . There were several plans/attempts to go but very hard to get it worked out tapi AKHIRNYE I went last weekend alhamdulillah. It started with Groupon publishing a deal on caving in Kota Gelanggi. M bought the deal and asked me and Z to join. Then it hit me. This is the chance to go to Tmn Neg! So I asked them whether they were ok with going to Taman Negara after the caving. I am glad they agreed so I came up with our own itenerary.
The initial plan with them was to go before Ramadhan. But we can only plan, Allah indeed has planned everything for us. After several changes of the plans and many more people to join, we went last weekend :D There were 8 of us. Yerp! I saw a good package with really affordable price but the requirement is to have minimum of 8 people. I tell ya, it was not easy to get these 8 people but I am glad we managed. Wee!!

Friday
So we started the journey on Friday night. Planned to reach Jerantut before 12am but we actually left KL around 1130pm :| Reached the hotel at 2am. Everybody was tired. We stayed at Hotel Inderapura. Cheap and comfy, I like :D Walking distance to the bus station (good recommendation to those travelling by bus). We however drove ourselves :)

Saturday
The next morning, woke up, check out, had breakfast and off we go to Kota Gelanggi. There were 4 caves. I must say the activity wasn't challenging at all. Even kids can do it I suppose. At first I thought it will be wet but we were dry as dry leaves :| We saw bats, a dead centipede, spiders, and a cricket. The cave forms are beautiful. There was 1 incident with A. While climbing down the cave, she misstep, ran backward and almost fell down a hole that used to be the grave of Japanese soldiers :| We laughed about it because it sure was funny watching her but I know we shouldn't :| She was scared as hell. Sorry A! You know we love you no matter what :D
L-@ Gua Sanding
UR-Where they buried all the soldiers then
BR-@ Wind Cave

After the caving, we hunt (chewah) for lunch. Ended up with nasi lemak and char kueyteow :| Along the way, we saw cows, goats, sheep, squirrels, an otter crossed the road..ok what else? It was definitely a countryside. Pemandangan hanyalah mountains and trees and oil palm trees, and nothing more.  I enjoyed it. The air was great too (durgh! ).  Reached Taman Negara around 4pm. I must say, eventho the caving wasn't tough, we were tired. Probably lack of sleep the night before. Luckily our next activity started later at night so we managed to get some good rest. At night, after the BIG dinner (yes, we had 3 big bowls of rice with plenty of dishes, 3 big jars of fresh orange alhamdulillah) we started our night jungle trekking.

Agoh Chalet

To go to Taman Negara, we had to cross Sg Tembeling. No crocodiles ever found there no worries :) As soon as we stepped on Taman Negara, we saw a wild tapir!!! Everyone was excited. Took a lot of pictures. Many tried to touch it. After several minutes, I was convinced by Z to touch it too and so I did. The skin feels like er..rough with fur :| Then when I tried to take picture with the tapir, it suddenly turned around and attacked me! I ran. All of us ran. I didn't dare to look back. 1 of our friends did and saw the tapir lift up its trunk, showed the teeth, sprayed me and ran away. Now how wild can that be ey? I was in the wild, got sprayed by a wild tapir on the face some more! 1 crazy experience hehe. Worth to tell anak cucu later? :P
We also saw a porcupine and many insects. It was full moon. The guide said animals don't go out from their place when the sky is bright. Too bad but it was still a good experience :) We shared some good stories with the guide (some are quite scary). We were asked to go out from the jungle before 12am. Later that night, the boys decided to lepak at 1 gerai to watch football. The girls went straight to bed.

Nite Jungle walk

Sunday
It was hard to wake everybody up. Chilly morning, body ache all over and lack of sleep were major contributions. The morning activity was delayed by 1 hour :|
We walked through the canopy walkway, the longest in the world! Jyeah! Some of us were afraid of heights but got hang of it after several checkpoints. Then we headed for the Rapid Shooting. We were on a boat, try to go against the river's rapid. Wet and fun!!

Visited the Batek (aborigines) afterwards. Learnt their culture, tried the blowpipes, visited the whole village, tried to make fire from scratch (I managed to get smoke but no amber. Survivor candidate failed!). Later we went to a cool place near the river for a swim. We were like budak kampung. The boat man found us some bamboos and we tried to invent games. Most of the games were stupid but super fun! Haha. He also taught us a cool way to make paint. Many faces got painted forcefully haha. At that time, no one wants to go back. Everyone wish to stay, away from the hectic city life, having not to think about everything. Such bliss! :P But only for a moment. :(
We headed back to our chalet. Check out at 4pm. Luckily the owner was nice and I managed to kawtim with him :P We still need to pay him some (of course!). Sent off Z @ Temerloh. Reached home 1ish in the morning.

@ Orang Asli Village

All in all, everyone had fun alhamdulillah. We had some sunburnt. Don't dare think that there will be no sun in the forest. This is Malaysia not Antartica :| Learnt my lesson :( Just put on the sunblock whenever wherever :|

I prayed that I will be healthy to go to this kind of adventures again insyaAllah.

Hello
Ni Hao!! (eh, is this a correct way to greet people in Beijing?)
Why I bother so much? Because I am going to Beijing in 2 days. Woots!
I hope the weather will be fine. I want to climb the Great Wall until I get the certificate. Yerp! That is my goal.
Another thing I look forward to is the visit to the health centre. My interest in the Chinese Medicine is growing I guess.
So, praying the journey will be worthwhile and all good insyaAllah.

Let's Plant!

Assalamualaikum
Eid Mubarak to all muslimin & muslimat. I hope everyone is enjoying the lemangs n rendangs as much as I do :D

Today, I plant flower seeds. Woohoo! It's my first time. I hope they grow pretty. I don't think I'm a green thumb, but I won't know until I try it right?

Things you need to plant seeds:
1) Pot
2) Small rocks
3) Soil
4)Water
5) Seeds

Since this is the 1st time I've ever planted anything, I took pictures since I was excited :D

Steps to plant seeds:
1) Recite bismillah.
2) Place the small rocks at the bottom to cover the holes.

3)Fill up the pot with soil. Mom just bought new organic soil. So I mix together the new and old ones.

4) Pour some water to the soil.

5) Make sure all the soil are evenly wet :| Mix them well.
6) Pour in the seeds. Press them down gently.

7) Drizzle a few more water.
8) Place them under the sun.
9) Done!

Don't forget to water everyday :) Wait until the seeds grow, then only you put the fertilizer specialize for flowers. :D Easy peasy. Let's hope my seeds will grow as beautiful as this picture :D These are the celosia plumosa aka corkscomb. Why I bought these seeds? Suke hati la kan!! Hahaha.

Ramadhan

Salam.
Ramadhan Mubarak.
Alhamdulillah, it is already the 13th day of Ramadhan. How's your ramadhan so far? As for me, this time around I made a promise to myself to achieve some things. Alhamdulillah, I am on track. May Allah give me strength to fulfill my promise Ameen.
Nuzul Quran's coming. Lailatul Qadr as well. So let's triple quadruple our ibadah to get as much barakah Ramadhan ends.

Ramadhan Kareem...

p/s: Don't forget to pay your zakah!

Sunday, July 8

±1 hour

I ran another marathon this year! It was the ntv7 feel good run.
2010, I made a promise to enter more marathons, (I checked the entry to reconfirm), only 2 years later I managed to fulfill my promise haha.
Last time, it was a 5KM run. This time around I tried the 7KM! The flag off was at 730 am. I reached the finishing line at 830 am. 1 hour exactly. Hehe. The route was flat until at the 3km where the hill is about 30 deg slope (?!). I ran small pace all the way and only stopped at 1/3 of the upward hill and at the drinking station to get some water. Very proud of myself, since I did not consistently practise. It was a charity run for PAWS, Yayasan Chow Kit, Kiwanis Down Syndrome Foundation and Pure Life Society. I managed to grab few cat's food for Zest :D
I DID GOOD. I FELT GREAT!

I am considering to take part on the 10KM next time. Trying to challenge myself. I am not going for any medals, just the satisfaction of running and upgrading myself. Hehe.

Great Short Getaways

I had couple of great trip.
First, was the nature retreat @ Chiling Waterfall, Kuala Kubu Bharu.
Nothing excite me than seeing greeeeenssss :D
We had to hike a bit and did several river crossing to get to this icy cool Chiling Waterfall.

It was a half day trip and I love the scenery along the way.

Then we stopped for some durian treat. We had D24, Musang King and the small cheap durians. The best part was, I didn't have to pay for all of the durians :D
Yes, who can resist durian. Free ones somemore :P

Then it was the Genting Highland Trip, my sudden urge of satisfying my adrenaline needs :| Plus, celebrating a dear friend of mine's birthday :P
The last time I went on a roller coaster or things like that was 2005!! To be able to feel the thrill again was gooood. I know the rides in Genting weren't that gempak, but good enough to jumpstart back my adrenaline rush haha. We reached there late. Managed to get on the Corkscrew twice, Space Shot , Pirate Ship, floating boat and the 4D Motion Rides. The queue was long eventho it was on a weekday. Many tourists coming in for the summer holidays. Oh well, I had great time nevertheless :)

To Nooraziati, Happy 28th. Wishing you a very blessed life. Be happy and healthy  :*

Finally

Just finished marathoning Desperate Housewives, the very final season.
Now here are reasons why I like this series:

1) Wisteria Lane.
-I've always wanted to live in a quiet neighbourhood like that (of course not corrupted ones like the series). The lawns are nice, great neighbours, the dream place I tell ya!

2) The bond between the girls.
-I went to an all girls boarding school. Friends are what I treasure most besides families and it happens to be that all my close friends are female :) It would be my dream that all my close friends live in the same neighbourhood :D

3) Funny how all of the characters have dirty secrets. Made me think that in reality, we all have.

4) I am not a big fan of authorities. In the final season, it kinda agrees with me :|

5) Do you find it annoying that when you do marathon on tv series, the intro is long, and you would want to skip that part everytime? Well, not with DH. Tee intro is simple, short and sweet although I still don't get it why they want to use apple tree and snake :|

There you go. 5 reasons why I love watching Desperate Housewives.

p/s: My favourite housewife is definitely Gaby. She's 1 hot momma!
